APHA Competitor Beth Buechler Passes

TERRE HAUTE — Elizabeth Ellen Buechler, 65, of Terre Haute passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013, in her residence after an eight-month battle with cancer. She was born January 24, 1948, in Terre Haute to Lester Dickerson and Bertha Neil Dickerson. Elizabeth was president of Blackhawk Coal Company. She was a graduate of Honey Creek High School and attended Indiana State University.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. James R. Buechler; one daughter, Michele E. Truxal of Terre Haute; one step-son, Raymond Buechler of Terre Haute; two step-daughters, Betsy Pennington of Carmel, IN and Nancy Buechler of Winston-Salem, NC; two grandchildren, Nicholas Truxal and Mia Truxal; and her dog, Eli.

Elizabeth was a member of the American Paint Horse Association. She loved her horses and dogs.

There is no visitation or funeral service at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, Terre Haute, IN.
