GoHorseShow is happy to report that Robert E. “Bobby” Haynes was found alive five days after he had gone missing near his home in Harned, Kentucky.
His son’s, Danny, Kenny, and Barry and grandson, Scott have been actively involved in the horse industry for years.
“Praise God in Heaven–he is home,” says Bobby’s daughter-in-law, Sue Haynes on her Facebook page. “They have found him and the rescue team is bringing him out now. We are waiting here with the ambulance.”
According to close friend Judy English, Bobby was dehydrated and exhausted, but doing well considering his age (90 next month). He is currently in the Breckinridge Co. Hospital in Hardinsburg, Kentucky.
Bobby was found on the Haynes’ farm and they said he somehow wedged the little truck in between two trees so tightly that he could not get out of the truck. All of the searchers, planes, helicopters, etc., had missed him due to the overgrown area. He lived on cookies that his wife, Doris, had made for him that were in the truck.
The 89 year-old suffers from Alzheimers and appeared to be dehydrated but okay when he was found. “Five days missing and a miracle has happened,” close friend, Cheryllee Sargent told GoHorseShow.
Glad to have a happy ending to this horse show family’s scary past few days.
