It’s a remarkable phenomenon to watch three full siblings show the same day at the same show, but what makes this story even more spectacular is that all three horses won first place. This impressive feat took place at the Country Music Circuit this past weekend in Harriman, Tennessee. All three horses were bred, raised, and trained by Pinetree Quarter Horses and sired by Hot N Blazing and out of their top producing dam, The Katwoman.
Two year-old, One Hot Katwoman, won on her debut in the Green Hunter Under Saddle with Lori Augsburger; three year-old, Hot Kattitude, won the Amateur Hunter Under Saddle with Kelley Mundrick and Junior Hunter Under Saddle with Lori Augsburger; and One Hot Kat won the Senior Hunter Under Saddle with Augsburger in the irons.
“The wins were a nice tribute to the dam, The Katwoman, and sire, Hot N Blazing, but also to the great trainers, Andrew and Lori Augsburger–not only does it show they have a great breeding program, but also a great training program,” says owner of Hot N Blazing, Courtney Chappell.
Veteran, One Hot Kat is no stranger to the show ring were he has won a bronze trophy at the AQHA World Show in the hunter under saddle, and he is a three-time Congress Champion. Most recently, the gelding and sisters, Lindsey and Vanessa Gillette have been on a winning streak–winning a Maturity $2500 Hunter Under Saddle class at The Little Futurity and the Youth Hunter Under Saddle Circuit Champion at the Big A in Conyers, Georgia.
Due to her age, James and Doris Collier of Pinetree Quarter Horses plan to now retire, The Katwoman from breeding. However, they will continue to raise great hunter under saddle horses with her daughters–Miss Kat Tails and One Hot Katwoman.
