OQHA is excited to announce that this afternoon the Fire Marshall and the Safety Management Team of Oklahoma City evaluated the OKC Fairgrounds and released it to be safe to hold events. Details have been workedout this evening between the Redbud Management and the OKC fair grounds and we will now be able to go forward with the Reining portion of the Redbud. The facility will be up and running Thursday at 7:00 a.m. to receive horses. The reining will be Friday, Saturday, & Sunday.

The Safety Management Team of Oklahoma City has evaluated the condition of the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds after the weather last night. They have notified the OKC Fairgrounds Facility Management that the facility will have to be closed at this time. The Facility Management has notifed OQHA that we will not be able to continue with our event. Once again, we regret that the Redbud Event has been cancelled by Facility Management.
NOTICE YOUTH MEETING CANCELLED: The OQHYA meeting schedule today has been cancelled do to conditions at the fairgrounds. The event schedule tonight at Remington will still go on. The fun starts at 5:00 p.m. at Remington Park. OQHA appreciates the support and patience of its exhibitors. Thank You for your understanding.
June 1st–9:30am–GoHorseShow has confirmed reports that the show has been cancelled. There is still no power. The fire marshall has shut down the show. We will update you as soon as we have more information.
May 31st, 11:30pm (CST) NEW UPDATE: According to management officials, the show will not start before
10 am on Saturday–however, there is still no power. There are two power poles down on
the north end of the fairgrounds. Reserve power is on in the coliseum but not
in superbarn. Management and fair officials will be reassessing the
situation early tomorrow morning.

UPDATE: It appears all the horses and exhibitors are safe at the fairgrounds. However, the power is still out and there is flooding in some of the stalls and barns. “Everyone is in good spirits though,” Amateur competitor Sarah Elder Chabot told GoHorseShow after everyone was allowed to leave the storm shelters.
There is also reports of flooding on the roads, power lines and trees down, road blockages, and flooding in some of the hotel rooms.
