Tom Powers Results Day 3
The third day of the Tom Powers Triple Challenge Futurity saw several open Hunter Under Saddle and Western Pleasure classes as well as Longe Line events, but the Two Year Old Maiden Sale Stakes Western Pleasure was the highlight of the day on Saturday.
Patrick Heeley rode Sleepy N I Know It to win the $20,000 check as the winner of the Two Year Old Maiden Sale Stakes Western Pleasure for owners Scott and Linda Berwick. The pair also earned an additional $3,000 from Harris Silverworks for winning the class while riding in a Harris saddle.
Heeley started working with the sorrel gelding, by Too Sleepy To Zip, in March. “He’s just a good guy – big and strong and so talented,” Heeley said. “He’s very quiet and takes everything in stride. He’s really easy to show.”

The first class of the morning, Three Year Old Novice Horse Novice Rider Hunter Under Saddle, had some added excitement when an errant golf cart crashed into the arena.
