The Best Martini to Stand at Pine View Farm Next Year

The Best Martini (Martin) continued his winning ways at the Tom Powers Futurity by winning the Three Year-Old Limited Pleasure Class on Thursday in Berrien Springs, Michigan and also the Little Futurity in Raleigh, North Carolina last week in the Green Western Pleasure and Novice Horse Slot Class with Brian Cox in the saddle. The Best Martini is by RL Best of Sudden who is proudly owned by Rhonda Malone of Orange, California. When GoHorseShow asked Malone what kept Martin and Cox in the winner’s circle, she proudly stated: “His wicked legs, great mind, and Brian Cox in the saddle pretty much sums it up.”

Malone adds, “I cannot express into words how happy I am about Martin’s success–he is a rock star. I have been blessed with a wonderful horse and a great friend and trainer in Brian Cox.”

Earlier this year, Cox and Martin won the SOHA Three Year-Old and Over Novice Horse Western Pleasure Slot Class in Wilmington, Ohio and tied with Jay Starnes to win Rock Star’s Novice Horse Class held in Williamston, North Carolina in May during the NCQHA District V Spring Show.

Cox looks forward to showing Martin at all the major futurities this summer leading up to the pinnacle show of the season–The All American Quarter Horse Congress.

After the show season, The Best Martini will be standing at Pine View Farm next year under the watchful eye of Debbi Trubee and Roger Landis.

“Rhonda and Buddy Malone have been long-time clients and they keep their broodmares and yearlings with us,” says, Trubee. “We are really pleased to have a son of RL Best of Sudden standing alongside Invitation Only, Lazy Loper and Winnie’s Willy. It will give mare owners a great variety of family lines to choose from.”

Malone is also excited about Martin standing at Pine View Farm. “It is the perfect place for him to be a stallion. They are the best in the business. I have nothing but respect for Debbi Trubee and Roger Landis. They have helped me so much with Martin’s career. It seems only natural that he will be in their care.”
