The TQHA Spring Celebration was held this past weekend at the Roane State Henry/Stafford Ag Expo Center in Harriman, Tennessee.
“Despite the chilly temperatures leading up to the show, the sun did shine on us over the weekend, bringing warmer temperatures,” says Christine Henry, show manager for the show. “We had great participation from the youth, especially in the 14-18. There were also 17 in the Youth Performance Geldings!”
According to Henry, the amateurs did not disappoint either. The Green classes also made strong showings in the trail and western pleasure with three point classes. TQHA had more than 220 stalls reserved, and the judges for the show were Dawn Clason, Jeff Greaves, Brent Maxwell, and Jan Hoskin.
There were several vendors in attendance including: Show Diva, Clayton’s, Two Track Tack to name a few as well as the Tennessee Quarter Horse Youth Association’s fundraiser of selling Litton’s cupcakes was a huge hit—selling over 200 cupcakes and cookies.
“Exhibitors came from all over the southeast–and it was some tough competition,” Henry states. “It was a great show with lots to do–and plenty of great exhibitors. One of my goals for this show was to be social-media-friendly–and our announcer, Cori Jasso was running both Facebook and Twitter pages with results, pictures (submitted by exhibitors and show staff) as well as reminders about schooling, happenings in the arena, and how the show was going. During the show, it was on fire!”
