GoHorseShow would like to congratulate Huntin Big Dreams (Clint) on winning the NSBA Horse of the Year Award for 2012. Clint is a 2007 gray gelding by Huntin For Chocolate and out of Ima Bodacious Dream by Docs Bodacious. He was bred by Charles and Jeannie Pircher of Rio Medina, Texas, and is owned by the Bilek Family Trust of Chino Hills, California. Pamela Bilek purchased Clint as a yearling and has enjoyed watching him grow and mature.
“For those of you that have ever been to Disneyland then you will understand when I compare owning Huntin Big Dreams to an E-Ticket ride at Disneyland,” says, owner Pam Bilek. “His career has been so exciting and rewarding. I had no idea what the future held when that little grey stud stepped off the trailer. Clint has become a gentle and kind champion in every way. He has earned all the love and treats he gets after each class, and I love spoiling him rotten but he is always a gentleman.”
His honor was richly deserved with back-to-back wins in the Junior Western Pleasure at the Congress, AQHA 2012 Junior Western Pleasure World Champion, 2012 Congress Markel Open Maturity Western Pleasure Champion, and 2012 High Point Junior and Open Western Pleasure Horse in the nation.
Additionally, Pamela is thankful for trainers Jason Martin and Charlie Cole of Highpoint Performance Horses. “They are my idols,” she says. “Not only are they great trainers but they are very honest, hard working and want the best for me as their client. I am very fortunate to be a part of their program. I credit Clint’s success to the efforts of Adam Wainscott who just happens to be the nicest kid I’ve ever met. Adam truly was grateful to be riding Clint and the two of them had a long and wonderful career together. They were an amazing team and just had that certain click that it took to make champions.”
Wainscott, who recently went out on his own, was also appreciative of the chance to ride Clint. “He loves the pleasure and enjoys his job. He was so consistent, and never cheated me in the show pen. He’s a happy-go-lucky kind of a horse, and I was so happy to win so many awards for his owner, Pam Bilek.”
Watch out for Clint and Shane Dowdy in the Maturity and Senior Western Pleasure classes at all the major show this year. This new team recently won the circuit championship in the Senior Western Pleasure at the Silver Dollar Circuit that was held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The NSBA Horse of the Year award is designed to represent the best in the history of the pleasure horse industry. Members are encouraged to nominate horses believed to be deserving of recognition as NSBA Horse of the Year. The NSBA Horse of the Year will be chosen each year based on NSBA participation, show record and points earned in that year. The award will be a traveling trophy with a permanent award given to the previous years’ recipient. The winner will be announced at the annual awards banquet.
