According to show manager Jody Quiram, the Gordyville show this past weekend in Gifford, Illinois was well attended despite the cold weather.
“The good thing about our facility is that when you get inside you do not have to deal with the weather,” Quiram states. “It is all under one roof and heated. Patti Carter-Pratt, Executive Director of AQHA Shows came to help us with the leveling. I was not sure how it was going to play out but I always believe in trying something new and getting ahead of the curve.”
Quiram continues, “Change is tough but inevitable. As it worked out, the leveling is going to be great. I think it will benefit all levels of shows, not just the big ones. I really want to commend Patti, she is an incredible ambassador to AQHA–first class and great with people.”
The all-around winners took home embroidered coolers and circuit winners received zip up hooded sweatshirts. Their next AQHA show will be held February 14th through the 17th, and it appears to be shaping into a huge show.
“It was great to have a show to go to at Gordyville this last weekend,” says 2012 Amateur All-Around Champion, Kaleena Katz Weakly, who is a huge supporter of the Gordyville shows. “With a warm place to show, friendly management and Patti Carter-Pratt there to educate everyone on the leveling system, it was a great place to start the 2013 show season!”
