De Renzo, the 2007 AQHA world champion yearling stallion, died December 2, according to his owner, Anastasia Kull of the Kull Ranch in Pekin, Illinois.
In emergency colic surgery to remove an enterolith, the stallion died from secondary complications from an epiplural compactment – a portion of the stallion’s small intestine was lodged between the lung, liver and anterior vena cava, Katie Mitchell of J.T. Mitchell’s Show Horses in Aubrey, Texas, told the Journal.
