Following a much publicized purchase by Sandra Morgan at the Crundwell sale in September, Good I Will Be has reached near celebrity status at the 2012 All-American Quarter Horse Congress. A few days after a Reserve Congress Champion title in Senior Western Riding with Leonard Berryhill aboard, “Willy” held a meet and greet to give his many fans an opportunity to see the gorgeous stallion in person. Willy stood quietly with his ears up and posed for pictures for over two hours while receiving kisses and pets from his admirers.
“The meet and greet with Willy was amazing,” said Stephen Stephens, breeding manager for Good I Will Be. “There were several people lined up to get their picture taken with him before he even arrived. They weren’t just show people but were also people who are interested in breeding to him. Before now, people may have thought Willy was inaccessible, but with his new home, ownership and marketing campaign, we want to make sure that everybody knows that he is everybody’s horse.”
Former AQHA President, Peter J Cofrancesco III, told Stephens that his youngest daughter thought that meeting Willy was the highlight of the Congress. “Peter told me that his daughter said that her walk trot class better hurry up because she wanted to go get her picture taken with Willy.”
Good I Will Be will stand for the 2013 breeding season at Stephens’ Dry River Ranch in Weatherford, Texas. Stephens and owner Sandra Morgan would like to invite everyone to a wine and cheese party at the AQHA World Show. The party is tentatively set for November 12th before Willy shows in the Senior Western Riding in Oklahoma City.
