Kristen Galyean and VS Code Red Win Debut at NSBA World

GoHorseShow would like to congratulate new mom, Kristen Galyean on making her debut in the Western Riding on VS Code Red (Waylon) at the NSBA World Show. After practicing a few times at the show, Kristen decided she was ready to show and the duo won the BCF Non Pro Western Riding Class. Charlie Cole also won the BCF Open Western Riding and has the Junior Western Riding later today.

“Waylon is such a fun horse to show,” says Charlie Cole, who won the Congress in the Junior and Green Western Riding last year on this talented stallion. “He couldn’t be any easier to train and prep for his classes and his movement and changes are beautiful. Kristin practiced on him for the first time here at the show and looked like old pros the very first day.”

Kristen, who plans to show Waylon at the Congress in the Amateur Western Riding, says that she was really nervous right before her class. “I hadn’t shown in the western riding ever since I had his mother so I wasn’t sure what to expect,” Galyean says. “I had a few timing issues but overall I was really happy with our first time. I wish I had qualified him for the World Show but with my new daughter, I just didn’t have the time.”

Galyean says that since Waylon bred over 150 mares this year, she was concerned how he would come back from the breeding season, but she says it hasn’t phased him at all. “I would like to thank Charlie and Jason and everyone at Highpoint who helped during his demanding breeding season and also prepared him to show again.”

Kristen Galyean also has another exciting two year-old, VS Flatline, out of Vital Signs Are Good and by Lazy Loper that will make his debut in the Reichert Two Year-Old Challenge with Jay Starnes. Galyean also plans to show him in the Non Pro Two Year-old events at the Congress. We wish her good luck and congratulate her on all her success with Lucy’s babies.
