Four Time APHA World Champion Xtreme Ambition Passes

GoHorseShow would like to offer our condolences to owner, Cheryl Vasi, and trainer, Joshua Larman, on the loss of their four time APHA World Champion halter stallion, Xtreme Ambition (Chaos). The three year-old by Mighty Ambition and out of Exclusive Connection succumbed to a twisted small intestine.

“For such a great, big, strong animal, I am reminded once again that they are all very fragile as is life for all of us,” Vasi says. “Chaos is irreplaceable to me and to those around him – the fact that not only our friends, but the halter horse industry also recognizes this special horse is a comfort right now. For anyone who knew him, you know what I mean, and it goes beyond his beauty. He was a beautiful soul and the only way I can describe it is by saying he had a very special mojo that I will never ever forget and probably will never be part of again.”

Chaos was bred and owned by Cheryl’s mother, Danielle Vasi, and Cheryl had the great honor to love him and show him. Chaos was the 2009 APHA World Champion Open Weanling Stallion, Amateur and Open World Champion Yearling Stallion in 2010, and the Amateur World Champion Two Year-Old Stallion in 2011.

The gorgeous stallion was with trainer Joshua Larman of Pilot Point, Texas ever since he was a weanling. Larman, who is devastated by his death, says that Chaos was a once-in-a-lifetime horse.

“Chaos was very special for a long list of reasons. First to me personally, Chaos was the first APHA World Champion I showed after leaving my previous employer to form Larman Show Horses. As a young trainer, he gave me instant credibility. As an individual, he is one of a kind–as a double registered N/N stallion, he began with some of the things a potential great will need,” Joshua told GoHorseShow. “Then, he added four world titles over three years. He had longevity in the show pen rarely seen in elite halter horses. He acquired a huge fan base that lead to his first year of breeding to be very exciting. I personally hope his legacy although cut short will be felt in the current and coming foals. He was a special horse.”

Chaos is now in his final resting place between the two paddocks he used to play in at Josh’s ranch. They have ordered a large flowering Crape Myrtle tree to be planted at his gravesite. Beginning this year, there will be a new award given out at the APHA World Show. It is the XTREME AMBITION MEMORIAL TROPHY created by Cowboy Bronze and painted in Chaos’s image. This will be awarded every year going forward to a yearling stallion who wins both Amateur and Open World Champion at the APHA World Show.

“I hope in some small way this will help to keep Chaos’s legacy alive,” Cheryl says.
