The MQHA Summer Series held over Memorial weekend in Allegan, Michigan was well attended. The MQHA staff worked hard to keep the show rolling along in a timely manner as the weather alternated from hot and sunny, to rainy, and back to sunny/hot again. There was plenty of camping sites and many exhibitors enjoyed the opportunity to camp along the beautiful Kalamazoo River. An exhibitors dinner was provided by Dr. Ken Main on Saturday night, and an ice cream social provided by the McCarthy-Warda group helped complete the nice family atmosphere of this show.
This was the first outdoor horse show in the Michigan Quarter Horse “2012 Tour” and the horses and exhibitors both seemed to enjoy the opportunity to show outside despite the heat. The rings were well maintained and were in good order even for the speed events offered on Sunday afternoon. With the general classes, hunter hack, and speed events this was a show with something for everyone.
Thanks to Kimm McDowell on the information and Greg Roth, Jim Garvie, Tiffany Weitzel, and Val Poll for the great candids.
