The May 2012 issue of GoMag features our first European cover. Gut Jaidhof is a 19th century estate located in Austria and has been owned by the Gutmann family since 1884. It consists of 10 major buildings and 7,000 acres of forestry and agriculture. Since 2008, Cathrin and Guntard Gutmann have been renovating the estate and are turning it into a state of the art facility for high quality Western Pleasure and Hunt seat horses. Our cover features their new show horses, Al Be Graceful and Onlyafraid Inthedark.
“I bought the two mares at the Congress last year,” Cathrin said. “Allie is by Allocate Your Assets and won all the major futurities in 2011 and was Reserve Congress Champion in the 3YO Open HUS. Her lifetime earnings have almost reached $26,000 in just one year of showing. Jellybean is by Invitation Only and out of Annelise Kimmel’s great mare, I Like It In The Dark. She was the 2010 Congress Champion in the 2YO WP Futurity and in 2011, she placed 4th at the 3YO Open and 5th in the 3YO Non Pro Western Pleasure.”
Both horses are in training with KPR-Quarter horses in Italy and are debuting in the show pen at the biggest shows in Europe in 2011 with Cathrin in the Amateur and Karin Prevedel in the Open events.
