Shaun McNiel passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012. Memorial visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes in Fort Worth.
Shaun was born July 13, 1962, in Fort Worth. He grew up in Bedford and graduated from Trinity High School in 1980. He attended Texas Christian University as a finance major, where he was on the Dean’s List and graduated in 1986.
Shaun was an active and outstanding horseman, breeding, training and showing numerous American Paint Horse Association World and Reserve World champions. He was past president of the American Junior Paint Horse Association and a longstanding committee member for the American Paint Horse Association, past president of the Texas Junior Paint Horse Club and past president of the Texas Paint Horse Club and served as a board member for many years.
Shaun was preceded in death by a brother, Toby McNiel, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce McNiel of Sulphur Springs and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brown of Fort Worth. Survivors: Father, Ronnie; mother, Nancy; brothers, Lance McNiel and Brian Nelson; uncles, Jim Brown and wife, Ouida, Jerry Brown and wife, Norma, and Eddie McNiel and Linda Clark; many loved cousins and their children; and numerous friends.
