Born To Be Blazing Makes A Move to Humphrey Quarter Horses

Already a Congress Champion sire, Born To Be Blazing (Lucky) has the pedigree and talent to become one of the leading sires in the industry. In January, owner Joan Schroeder sold the Blazing Hot son to a group of investors in the northwest who formed the Born to Be Blazing, LLC partnership. He will stand at Humphrey Quarter Horses in Whitesboro, Texas.

“I really believe in Lucky,” Joan told GoHorseShow. “I am excited to further his breeding career by helping Humphrey Quarter Horses’ ranch owner/breeding manager, Ryan Humphrey, promote him and continue spreading his name as an outstanding young sire.”

The 2002 sorrel stallion by Blazing Hot and out of Born Lopin was the
2004 AQHA World Champion in the Two Year-Old Western Pleasure, and a
year later, he was the 2005 Reserve Champion at the Congress in the
Junior Western Pleasure. His get have won nearly $95,000 in futurity and incentive fund earnings as well as accumulating over 900 AQHA points.

“He is by a champion, out of a champion—he is a champion himself, and he has already produced champions,” Humphrey said referring to Lucky’s sire, Blazing Hot and dam, Born Lopin. “There are several leading stallions that are getting older, and I believe he will be a young stallion that will step up and become one of the next great sires in the industry.”

According to Humphrey, Lucky has outstanding manners and is delightful to be around. His 2012 breeding fee will be $1500 which includes the booking fee.

“For this breeding fee, Lucky blows all the other comparable stallions out of the water. Most stallions of his caliber have breeding fees twice his amount,” Humphrey states. “We are dedicated to pushing this stud by promoting him and his babies in order to make them champions. The mare owners should know that we have the backing and the ability to increase the value of their babies over the next several years.”

Humphrey Quarter Horses is located on 62 spectacular acres in the heart of horse country. They are located on Highway 82, one and a half hours from Dallas Forth Worth and two and a half hours from Oklahoma City. It is a full service breeding operation that offers on site breeding, shipped cooled semen, transported semen, embryo transfers, year-round mare care, foaling service, frozen semen, quarantine for export of horses abroad, stallion management, and sales prep for all major sales.

“We treat all the horses like our own, and we are very excited to see Lucky’s foal crop this year,” Humphrey says.”There are several two-year olds with top trainers this year and several great prospects available. Please contact us to find out about some offspring that may be available.”

Several of Born To Be Blazing’s top offspring include: Born To Be Cute, Born In Motion, Born With Luck, Zippos Hot Blaze, Zizzles Hot Blaze and My Ace Is Hot to name a few. My Ace is Hot is the 2008 Congress Champion in the GMC Two Year-Old Western Pleasure Futurity, and the Congress Open and Limited Non Pro Two Year-Old Champion with Joetta Bell in the saddle. My Ace is Hot currently has six superiors in several classes including: pleasure, trail, western riding, and horsemanship. He also placed in the Top Five at the 2008 World Show in the Two Year-Old Western Pleasure and was 2011 High Point Champions in the Junior and Green Western Riding and a earner of over $40,000 in futurity earnings.
