Beloved Cutter Owned by Boyd Rice Dies in Trailer Accident

The Official American Paint Horse Association Facebook page has posted their condolences on the recent death in a trailer accident of a great Paint Horse cutter, Deltas Color, owned by Boyd Rice of Spearman, Texas,

“Paint, as he was known to most, was killed instantly in an accident today. He was an accomplished cutter who was loved by many. He will be missed. We send our sincere condolences to the Rice family.”

This comment was also posted on Boyd Rice’s Facebook page and we would like to pass it along.

We wanted to thank everyone for their love and support today. Boyd was in an accident traveling home from Abilene. He hit a slick spot and lost control of the truck. Boyd is okay, Luke and Nina were in another vehicle and were not involved in the accident. All the horses were banged up but will recover, except for Paint. Paint was killed instantly in the accident. Boyd was not far from 6666 Ranch when this happened. All the horses are there being treated and should go home in a day or so. Paint will be buried there at 6666 Ranch up by where Dash For Cash is buried. We are heartbroken but blessed because it could have been much worse. Once again thanks for all you thoughts and prayers.
