Amateur Peyton Bivins and Kamanyawannadance Become New Team

GoHorseShow is happy to report of another well known horse and rider that have become a team. Reserve World Champion rider, Peyton Bivins of Amarillo, Texas has purchased AQHA Reserve Super Horse and Congress Champion, Kamanyawannadance (Collin), from judge and trainer Leslie Lange of Greeley, Colorado.

“I am so excited for the opportunity to have Collin,” 19 year-old Peyton Bivins told GoHorseShow. “I have always liked him because of what an amazing horse he is. He is so much fun to watch in both the hunters and the hunter under saddle, and not to mention, very pretty and talented.”

The 2002 black gelding by Hot Impulse and out of thoroughbred mare, Wana Dancer, has over 700 points in the hunter under saddle and jumping events. Collin is a Congress Champion and has had several top 10 placings at the World Show and in the nation.

“I have had him since he was two, and I did not want to sell him out of the barn,” Lange explained. “Peyton has spent the last several summers at my house riding and she has spent a lot of time on him and they get along great. Now that she is an amateur, she was ready for a new challenge and she loves the equitation. Her other horse, Dress In Gold, does not love the little english saddle, so Collin seemed like a good fit. Peyton also wants to learn the Hunter Hack. He is so good minded and willing to please, I think they will be a great team.”

Peyton and Collin started out the new year by winning Hunt Seat Equitation Circuit Championship at the Pre-Denver Show in both the Amateur and Senior Hunter Under Saddle. The duo also won the National Western Stock Show in the Senior Hunter Under Saddle and earned several equitation points as well.

“They are off to a great start,” Lange comments. “Even though Collin has not been shown in the equitation, I think he will do great. Peyton will continue to show Dress In Gold in the western events, and Collin in the english. The best part is that Collin gets to expand his talents with a new rider, and I still get to have him around. He is a very special horse to me, and, hopefully, he will help Peyton reach some new goals as an amateur.”
