It's been an emotional week for Amateur exhibitor Karen Ogle of Edmond,
Oklahoma. On Tuesday, she showed in the preliminaries and made the
finals in the Amateur Hunter Hack, as well as the Amateur Working Hunter with both of her horses. The next day, Ogle spent time with
her 72 year-old father, Ron Presley, at the hospital before he
peacefully passed away after a long illness.
AQHA Professional Horseman Lainie DeBoer of Hugo, Minnesota, can’t complain about winning two AQHA world championships in a row November 12. “It’s surreal,” Lainie says. “It’s just awesome. It still hasn’t sunk in. It will soon. But I’m just thrilled.” After winning junior working hunterwith Only Royal Blue, Lainie came back into the senior working hunter finals with Larks Big Leaguer.
Joe and Suzy Jeane's Down the Rail Performance Prospects of Valley View, Texas is having a herd reduction sale featuring eighteen of their horses in the AQHA World Championship Sale. The sale is being held, Friday, November 18th at the Oklahoma City State Fairgrounds. The highlight of their sale horses is 2004 World Champion Senior Western Riding stallion, Dress Western. "Buster" is a 1997 bay stallion by Invitation Only and out of Fannie Mae Flash.
John Simons is carrying on a Paint Horse legacy. John Simon stepped into a deep pen of Junior Western Pleasure horses, but he was prepared with his best moves. Trainer Jeffrey Gibbs concentrated on keeping the 5-year-old stallion consistent as they negotiated the crowded arena. ThePaint Horse Journal spoke to Jeffrey as a team of well-wishers, including John Simon’s owner, Erin Bradshaw, congratulated their favorite stallion on his newest world championship.
Lauren Eichstadt and Its My Lucky Detail win the 2011 Farnam All-Around Amateur award at the AQHA World Championship Show. At the 2010 AQHA World Show, Lauren and Lucky were reserve in amateur working hunter and amateur hunter hack, which yielded their fourth place finish in the 2010 amateur all-around race.
