Despite it being cold and rainy, the Virginia Classic went off without a hitch this past weekend. The first annual $50,000 Hylton Maiden Classic was a huge success with deep competition. Hylton Quarter Horses trainer Steve Meadows said there were over 690 stalls sold which was double from last year. The pleasure classes were also huge with splits in most of the classes.
Andrea Kengis Foss of Mequon, Wisconsin says that she believes that she was "born to love horses." From the My Little Ponies she played with to the big rocking horse she rode when she was little--all she ever wanted to do was spend her time around these majestic animals.
Congratulations to Only A Summer Breeze on winning the $50,000 Hylton Maiden Three-Year Old Western Pleasure at the Virginia Classic. The three year old bay mare is owned
and raised by Dan and Kathryn Frederick and was shown by Brian Baker.
It's not every day that your primarily AQHA/NRHA Reining trainer wins reserve at the biggest Arabian Reining event in the country, but that's exactly what NRHA judge and multiple champion trainer Jesse Chase of Wendell, North Carolina has done. This young talented trainer is starting to make a name for himself in the Arabian industry.

This 2006 chestnut stallion by NSBA Hall of fame inductee, Blazing Hot, out of Miss Trophy Chip was bred by leading trainer, Carl Yamber, and is now currently owned by Cheryl Mullikin of Xenia, Ohio. The 2011 Circle G Classic was held in Tunica, Mississippi April 1-4 at the Tunica Arena and Expo Center which is the same great facility the will house the Southern Belle in July. Put on by Cody and Michelle Fisher of Fisher Horse Shows--this event was a great success with great prizes, judges, and lots of fun. The judges for this year were Larry Little, Dan Trein, Bennie Sargeant, and Buddy Fisher.
Sure Am Hot's former owner, Jenna Dempze was in for a pleasant surprise
when she was recently browsing the NSBA website. Jenna was looking at
the rider lists to see if she still qualified as a $2,500 Open Rider
class when she saw the list for all time leading money earning horses.
