Daranne Folino and her ‘trail machine’ capture add another world championship to their resumes.
The Masters Amateur Trail course might as well have had a welcome mat laid out for Daranne Folino and Sonny Dee Zippin. The pair certainly made themselves at home on the inviting course, flowing from one obstacle to the next with ease to lay down an impressive pattern for the judges. When the judges’ placings were called, Daranne and “Jake” took blues across the board, unanimously winning the world championship. TheJournal caught up with a beaming Daranne on the way back to her stalls.

Still in shock, Daranne Folino was ecstatic to realize she and Suddensational were the 2011 world champions in Masters Amateur Junior Western Pleasure. Coached by Ryan Painter, Daranne headed into the John Justin arena focused on having the perfect pleasure ride. When the judges rewarded her efforts, the Paint Horse Journal spoke to Daranne about Western Pleasure and all things “Cupcake.”
