With the Congress fast approaching and the AQHA and APHA World shows following shortly after, many trainers, judges, owners and exhibitors will find themselves away from home for most of October and November. Despite so many people being on the road, GoHorseShow.com’s readership will peak during these two months.

GoHorseShow.com’s mobility allows us to deliver horse show news and entertainment as well as the digital magazine, GoMag, whether it is from home, office, on a laptop, mobile device or via smart phone which everyone now carries with them at all times. No longer is there a need to pack cumbersome books and magazines for your travel reading material because everything you need for your horse show news and entertainment is at the click of one simple button.
So, as many of you get ready to hit the road, we thought it would be a good time to ask our readers: Where, how and why do you read GoMag and GoHorseShow.com? Have fun reading the answers from several leading individuals in our industry. We would like to hear about your reading habits.

am up early in the morning so I usually read GoHorseShow.com first thing in my
home office around 5:30 am or later on at night. There is also the occasion
when I get a call during the day from someone that says, “Did you see that
or read that on GOHORSESHOW???” then I have to hop on my Blackberry or
laptop from wherever I am. I read it because it’s the ONLY place to go between
the shows!
Amateur
Exhibitor, Darcy Reeve: I usually visit GoHorseShow.com in the evenings when my
day is winding down and I am relaxing. Most of the time I am on my laptop, but
when I’m on the go my phone gets the job done too! I like GoHorseShow.com
because the articles are interesting and often shows a different side to people
we know so well at the horse shows.

and Trainer, Charlie Cole: I read GoHorseShow on my iPhone or my iPad. I usually
check GoHorseShow one to three times a day. I really like that GoHorseShow
keeps updated on important news stories like the EVH-1 outbreak and the people
who lost their barns to tornadoes. I also enjoy the stories about other horse
people and their families. It’s a great way to keep current on what’s going on
in the horse world.
Youth
Exhibitor, Jonathan Nowacki: I always read GoHorseShow.com from my iPhone app!!
I read it while I’m at the gym, shopping and really anything I’m doing I always
check because they have the most recent and correct news about the industry!!
It is always a great source of information about anything involving the sport
of showing horses!
Judge
and Trainer, Robin Frid: I read GoHorseShow.com because I enjoy many of the
articles, and looking at the pictures from shows I do not attend. They stay
very up to date and current on many issues. I also enjoy the fact that every
article I have read is, in my opinion, very factual with mostly little to no
bias either way. They cover difficult topics that we don’t like to publicly
talk about sometimes, but keep them honest and to the point. One of my favorite
things to do is to read it from my laptop when we are at the big shows…in the
morning after feeding the horses, and I am sitting at the stalls enjoying my
Sweet Shoppe bacon egg and cheese sandwich with an apple turnover. I wish they
had those in Pilot Point!
Amateur
Exhibitor Jessica Baird: I generally read GoHorseShow articles on my iPhone,
and yes, I hate to admit, many times it is while driving (only at stop lights,
of course!) However, my MacBook comes in handy because I am an addict to the
GoMag, and I am always checking the beginning of every month to see each new
issue as soon as I wake up. I enjoy reading the articles on GoHorseShow because
they are interesting and have a lot of ‘just for fun’ articles. A lot of the
articles are fun to read; while some like Dana Wetherell’s recovery story was
absolutely amazing and inspiring….words cannot explain how wonderful it was.
GoHorseShow.com is a great place to catch up on information regarding the
industry.

Carey Nowacek: I look at GoHorseShow.com on my computer when I should be
studying mainly and throughout the day whenever I have a minute on the
computer. I usually look at it on my computer, but, if I see an interesting
article pop up in my Facebook newsfeed, and I’m away from my computer, of
course I have to check it out on my GHS app! GoHorseShow.com is the best, and
it keeps me up to date on everything going on in the horse show world even
while I am away at school!
Trainer, Windy Allen: I read
GoHorseShow.com at night usually when I never get the remote. I also love it
when at the shows while longeing. It’s usually on my MacBook or iPhone.
GoHorseShow.com is the only way to go! Love the stories!!

GoHorseShow wherever I am, on my phone and on the computer daily. It’s always
up to date on news, sales, stories and even show pictures. It almost could be a
toss up… Facebook… GoHorseShow….
Breeder,
Robin DeGraff: I check in on a regular basis, but I think GoHorseShow does a
great job getting picked up by a bunch of different newsletters across many
venues. I am involved not only in Quarter Horses, but other breeds and venues
in other equestrian venues… many times there will be an article headline of
interest and I click…and it takes me to GohorseShow.com so, they not only do
a great job getting placed, but also finding timely topics and researching them
well.

and catch up my GoHorseShow happenings while I am at lunch. If I’m at a horse show,
I usually check at night right before I go to bed. I do have the GHS app on my
phone but I also like to check it out on my computer to get the whole effect!
Trainer, Becki Schwab: I always check
GoHorseShow.com right after I get in from training all day. I look at GHS on my
computer, or my iPhone. The articles and stories are entertaining, informative,
and very professional.

Float=”left”]/Media/2/jpg/2011/6/fddf95e1-cbec-9cd5-369aa86709d6c486.jpg[/NPI]Trainer, Michelle Tidwell: I generally
check out GoHorseShow.com in the mornings on my computer while I am drinking
chocolate milk. I have the app on my iPhone so I sometimes check it out there
when I am traveling. I find that GHS lets me keep track of events and breaking
stories in the horse show world.
Trainer, Joni Nelson: On my iPhone,
usually at lunch or first thing in the am and last thing before I go to bed. I
read GoHorseShow because I like to know what’s going on in other places in the
country, see whom has new horses and what everyone is doing with their horses
(I live in Iowa!!) And of course the articles.
APHA Exhibitor, Lauren Michelle Kelly:
Great stories bring me to GHS nearly every day. I frequently watch Facebook for
updates from GHS. Normally I do all of this on my MacBook, but I occasionally
use the GHS app on my iPhone. I find the stories so informative. We don’t show
Quarters, but several of my clients show Quarter Horses, so I enjoy being able
to keep up with what is going on in AQHA as well. I also love to read inspiring
stories and biographical stories that are done. I was not born into this
business, so I don’t know much about the industry pre-2000’s, so I love
learning about great horses and great trainers and exhibitors before I came to
town.
Amateur Exhibitor, Brittany Blankenship:
I’ll read GoHorseShow.com in the morning while having breakfast and when I’ve
got the news on but most of the time I am reading it when I’m done with work
for the day. I like to have the time to sit down and thoroughly read the really
interesting articles. Lately there have been some great write-ups and I love
digging into them along with keeping up with what’s going on in our industry!
Trainer,
Becky George: I always read Gohorseshow on my iPhone 4. I usually see a post on
Facebook and then go from there, that way I’m always informed on what’s going
on in the horse industry!
Select
Amateur Exhibitor, Allison Ham: I usually check the news from GoHorseShow on my laptop
each evening. I really enjoy the people stories. Most everyone has some sort of
interesting story!
Trainer,
Farley Sliss: Either early in the morning or late at night, when I’m winding up
for the day or winding down from the day. Either on my iPhone or laptop. I love
reading the stories (On the Cart with Compton were my favorite) and keeping up
with what’s going on within the industry.
Trainer, Lainie DeBoer: After I get my
kids off to school, I make a great cup of coffee and curl up with my computer
and check all my favorite websites. It is really the calm before the storm and
is my little guilty pleasure for the day. I really enjoy all the stories and
looking at people’s ads. The quality of the pictures in GoMag are incredible. I
also look forward to Dakota’s stories because she is such a talented writer.
She needs to get into the media, she is a natural.
