A fairly uncommon occurrence happened in the halter events at the All American Quarter Horse Congress. Chester and Anne Prince’s yearling stallion, PF Credibley Supreme, was awarded Grand Champion Stallion. A yearling stallion standing Grand at the Congress is something that has not happened in the modern halter era.
This gorgeous sorrel yearling home bred stallion who was raised by Chester and Anne Prince of Palmetto, Florida, is the talk of the halter industry. The 2010 stallion is by Prince’s stallion, MH Supremo and out of Ima Credible Miss.
Affectionately known as BJ, PF Credibley Supreme, won the Open Yearling Stallions with Prince’s resident halter trainer, Dewey Smith leading. This striking stallion was also first in the WCHA Yearling Futurity, won the Amateur Yearling Stallions across the board with Anne Prince, and stood Grand Champion Stallion beating the older more established stallions.
Trainer Dewey Smith, who works out of Prince’s farm in Palmetto, Florida, raved about this young colt and said that he knew he was special the first time he saw him out in the pasture. He has a full brother and sister that are weanlings, but they are the last full siblings to BJ due to the passing of their mother.
“I think he is the type of stallion that can take over like the great ones that have passed away,” Smith told GoHorseShow right after his win. “Kid Clu and Mr Conclusion made their mark on the halter industry, and I think this stallion has the potential to do the same.”
When asked what is so special about him, Smith says that BJ is very balanced and not “overdone.” Dewey is also impressed by this stallion’s attitude. “He is really great minded, and what is so great about him is that Anne and Chester raised him. He also is already 16 hands, very solid, with a gorgeous head and neck. He is the one we’ve been waiting for–he is a freak of nature.”
GoHorseShow also asked him what the plans are for the stud, and he says nothing is set in stone. “We hope to take him and have a great AQHA World Show—nothing is planned out and we may sell him–even though he said, ‘no comment’, when asked how much it would take to part with him.
Smith adds that Anne and Chester Prince are incredible people to work for and this couldn’t have happened to nicer owners. “An example of their generosity is that they gave me the Congress Grand Champion buckle and said that I deserved it–they are a class act.”
