Pine View Farm, home of Invitation Only and Lazy Loper, recently announced their “Buy From The Breeder” incentive. There will be $30,000 up for grabs at the 2012 Congress for Two Year-Olds that were raised and purchased from Pine View Farm.
The owners of Lazy Loper and Invitation Only, the Farina’s, are committed to raising good horses. “We don’t raise large numbers but we do try to raise top end quality,” said Debbi Trubee, who is the general breeding manager along with Roger Landis for Pine View Farm. “We have kicked around a lot of different ideas on production sales and where we market our horses, and it really made the most sense to just have a bonus offer for each colt crop.”
When GoHorseShow asked Trubee why they decided to offer this incentive– she explains that it is a win-win situation for both Pine View Farm and potential buyers to visit the farm and see the sire and dams of what they are offering for sale.
“It is also a more comfortable buying experience than say a horse sale where everything happens so fast. Potential buyers can take their time and look at the yearlings in a more relaxed fashion and have the time to make a decision on a major purchase,” Trubee tells GoHorseShow. “We also can show buyers a larger number of yearlings at home than we can possibly have at a Yearling Sale.”
Trubee adds, “The Farina’s were also interested in giving the bonus at the Congress as it will give our yearlings a longer time to mature and be ready to show versus the early two year-old events.”
The 2010 Pine View Farm foal crop is eligible for this inaugural offering making 22 horses eligible. Twenty thousand will be awarded to the Two Year-Old from the 2010 crop that is shown in 2012 and is the highest placing Two Year-Old in the 2012 Congress Coughlin Two Year-Old Open Western Pleasure class. Ten Thousand will be awarded to the highest placing Two Year-Old in the Two Year-Old Non Pro Open Western Pleasure at the 2012 Congress.
The money will be awarded to the owner on record at the 2012 Congress. The money will be paid to the highest placing Two Year-Old from our 2010 crop– whether it’s 1st, 5th or 15th. One of the 22 eligible horses could receive a check if they place anywhere in the top 15.
