Excitement, nerves and a heap of hard work combined to help 13-year-old Lexi Jordan and her chocolate-colored mare Impulsination rise above the competition and clinch the win in Youth 13 & Under Showmanship June 25 at the AjPHA Youth World Championship Show. The tough finals pattern—which featured a pair of 270-degree pivots and a horseshoe-shaped backing element—tested competitors’ resolve. Executing their pattern with confidence and poise, the eighth grader from Cypress, Texas, and her 2002 chestnut overo mare “Hershey” clamed their first world champion title. The Paint Horse Journal caught up with a tearful Lexi to find out what she thought of this special win.
