Makenna Coulson and Toys Express don’t toy around in the show ring.
Makenna Coulson, a 9-year-old fourth grader from Granite Bay, California, wowed the judges with her outstanding performance in Youth Walk-Trot Showmanship with Toys Express in hand. Thanks to support from her parents, Tamara and Brain Coulson, the team is successful. Out of 10 exhibitors, “Miss Piranha,” trained by Michael Davis of Carnation, Washington, impressed the judges the most overall. The Paint Horse Journal met with Makenna following her win to talk about her stellar achievement.
