They say “April showers bring May flowers”. May also brings further excitement about the summer shows and futurities. The APHA Summer World is fast approaching as is one of the biggest AQHA shows of the year, the Redbud Spectacular. May is also the time when lots of cute babies are on the ground.
The May issue of GoMag salutes the industry’s best exhibitors, trainers, horses and businesses as well as the stallions and breeders who produce some of the finest offspring in the country.
About The Cover
Drew Rogers may look like just another 13
year-old girl but when it comes to showing her horse, multiple APHA World
Champion Shez Eye Candy, Rogers is a force to be reckoned with. After
winning the All-Around Youth title at the 2010 APHA Summer World Show, she finished
#2 in the Top Twenty standings. Rogers captured the Honor Roll title in Western
Pleasure and Trail as well as Reserve Honor Roll Champion in Hunter Under
Saddle and Western Riding with the 2004 sorrel mare. While finishing #2 was
great last year, the team is currently running for the coveted #1 spot and hopes
to defend her All-Around title at this year’s World Show.
So far in 2011, Drew and Shez Eye Candy
won the 13 & Under All Around titles at the Oklahoma Holiday Classic and
Tulsa March Mania, putting them in a strong running for the #1 spot! The
pair is trained by Julie Black and both trainer and Drew live in Bakersfield,
California.
Watch for this team at all major APHA
shows this summer and, of course, the 2011 APHA Summer World Show!
