GoHorseShow.com is saddened to learn that leading
sire, A Good Machine, was injured during collection and had to be euthanized Saturday.
A Good Machine was a 1993 bay AQHA stallion sired by Zippos Mr Good Bar
and out of AQHA Supreme Champion, War Kelpie.
“Mac” as he was fondly referred to was a multiple
AQHA, APHA, NSBA World Champion and Reserve World Champion, as well as a Congress
Champion and Reserve Champion Sire and an European Champion Sire. His get earned over 8,000 AQHA points
and nearly $300,000 in NSBA earnings.
He was the sire of such notable winners as Good I Will Be, A Good
Fantasy, Old Gold Machine and Lopins Dream.
Mac was managed for the majority of his
career by John and Kim Dean and as of April 25, 2011 by Rick McDonald of MC
Equine in Whitesboro, Texas. He was owned by Chris and Liane Drake Warwick.
