Extremely Hot Chips Unveils New Website

Congress Winner, Extremely Hot Chips, recently debuted a sizzling hot new website. “It was kind of a last minute thing at the end of ’09 when we decided to start breeding him in 2010,” owner Cheryl Mullikin told GoHorseShow.com. “So, everything was rushed to get the website, ads and video put together. I know the new site will benefit him greatly.”

All the credit for the new site and design goes to Kathleen Downs of Market Street Marketing. “She did a great job with it using the pictures from Kelly Graphics,” Cheryl explains. “It is a good fit as she also does Pilot Knob’s site where he stands.”

Kathleen Downs, who designed the new site, says that the best work happens when the client is really present and involved to communicate the vision of what they’d like the website to represent. “The owner, Cheryl and Mike Hay of Pilot Knob Quarter Horses are both great to work with in this regard,” she said. “Color is a huge part of design, website as well as print work. The proof in the pudding, though, is how the colors look and feel… sometimes colors you thought would work… don’t! It’s best to stay open and keep exploring until the feel is just right. It’s amazing how you ‘know if when you see it’ is so true.”

“Extremely Hot Chips, ‘Chip’, is just simply an awesome horse,” Mullikin, said. “This will be Chips second year to stand and we are very excited about early enquiries that started a few months ago for this breeding season.”

Mullikin mentions that this 2006 stallion by Blazing Hot and a winner of over $53,000 in lifetime futurity earnings is a joy to work with, and she couldn’t ask for a better temperament out of a horse–let alone a stallion. “He knows what his job is whether it’s at the breeding farm or in the show pen,” she said. “What was very impressive about him, last year he got done with the breeding season and then in less than two weeks went to Tom Powers and got reserve under A Certain Vino.”

According to Mike Hay of Pilot Knob Quarter Horses, who stands many top stallions in the industry, mentioned that he jumped at the chance to stand this stallion. “Chips bloodlines speak for themselves–top and bottom, but many smart horse people appreciate his great legs. I have not seen this horse ever move poorly. In the mud, on hard ground, fresh, tired–his legs stay consistent,” Hay said. “Several popular bloodlines now are producing flat knees but what makes Chip special is his lift in his shoulder. He is so cadenced and strong.”

Hay adds, “We are excited about his first crop of foals with some great mares booked for 2011. We are confident his breeding future will be as successful as his great show career.”
