Hot Lopin Machine and Jay Starnes Win $100,000

Congratulations to Jay Starnes aboard Hot Lopin Machine,
winner of the Equine Sports Medicine $250,000 Challenge 2 Year Old Western
Pleasure class. The bay stallion, owned by Michelina Carbone, brought home a
check for $100,000 and is the seventh horse to have won the prestigious event.

Saturday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma the judges were Bob
Avila, Dan Huss, Rick Christy and Scott Neuman. Hot Lopin Machine won under three cards and was second on the other. It
was especially sweet for owner Michelina who purchased the horse a week ago
from the Starnes family.

This was the second year in a row for Jay Starnes who won the same class in 2009 on Rode Rageous for Linda Redmann. Saturday night, eighteen
horses competed in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The festivities started at 9:30 pm with the
class running just past midnight.

This year, Starnes was aboard Hot Lopin Machine, a home
bred bay stallion by A Good Machine and out of Hot
Lopin Louise.  Hot Lopin Louise is by Blazing Hot and out of Born Lopin.
Owned and shown by the Starnes family, she earned 180 AQHA western pleasure points and
over $7,000 in NSBA money before becoming a broodmare.
