What started as a simple visit to an AQHA show has now become a passion and
therapy for Maggie Bellville. “The collegiality of the Select division and its
competitive spirit is exciting. Even after we duke it out in the pen we can
still enjoy each other’s company.”
In the past two years, Maggie has won two World Championships with her
“Superstars”; the first in Showmanship with GPF Legal Version, followed up with
her halter gelding, Hez Sacred. She added 3-Year-Old Mare MTK Rules to her
lineup this year and will show her at the Select World Show and Congress with
the help of Ronald Stratton. Husband Lew started showing halter under the
guidance of Ronald Stratton with Love The Knight Life, but Lew’s ongoing
illness caused Maggie to take the shank and she now loves showing halter as
well as all-around.
Maggie gives Rob Meneely, her all-around trainer, much credit for getting
involved in AQHA and keeping her active. “Thanks to all those who make it
possible, Rob and Mary Meneely, Dawn Lovern, Ronald Stratton and Roy Houser,
“They all help me live life to the fullest and live the dream.”
