It
was an unprecedented fourth youth western riding world championship for
Ali Papendick and the legendary bay gelding Harley D Zip on August 3,
at the 2010 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show. They won
their first in 2007, then in 2008, the pair set a record with a score of
241 to win, and equaled it in 2009 for a third gold trophy. This year a
235.5 put them at the top of a list of tough youth riders. It’s Ali’s
last year to compete as a youth – she’s headed off to the amateur ranks.
But watch out! It looks like she’ll be riding “Harley” for at least a
year more.
