Shorty’s Caboy Hattery is
the premier hatter on the forefront of launching new hat trends in the horse
industry every year. The owner, Shorty
Koger, says she is always asked what stars wear her hats, and she responds
by saying that “Everyone is a star that wears a Shorty’s hat!”
There are several new styles that Shorty will be debuting at some of the
major shows coming up this summer. Starting May 31st thru June 26th, there are
three shows that will be held at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma
City, Oklahoma. Check out Shorty’s booth that will be located in the coliseum
during the Redbud Spectacular (May 29th-June 6th), the NRCHA Non-Pro Derby
(June 15th-20th), and the NRHA Derby (June 21st-26th).
Shorty’s new hat styles include hats with crystal designs around the
brims, hide brim hats, beaded hats, leather laced brims, bound-edge brims, as
well as straw and palm leaf straw hats.
For their hide brim hats, they offer a wide variety of hides to choose
from. They hand select their hides, and no two hides will look alike! In
addition to zebra and cow hide brims, Shortly has just added a new line of
cheetah brims that are sure to make a statement. Hats embossed with crocodile
are also available in black, brown and mustard colors.
For the beaded styles, they offer any color combination or pattern of
beads, and they can also do Ranch Brands. The Leather Laced Brimshave a 6 inch crown and a 4 1/2 to 5
inch brim, unless otherwise specified. The “Cactus” and “Longhorn”
hat styles have “cut outs” in them. The Cactus cutout has a turquoise
insert and the Longhorn cutout is in cowhide that matches the hat band.
Shorty’s Caboy Hattery also offers many different shapes and colors in
traditional cowboy hat styles. Cutter Style, Western Pleasure, The Cattle Baron
and The Judge, just to name a few. There’s a hat for everyone!
No detail or consideration is too insignificant for Shorty and her team
not to take seriously. Each custom western hat is hand crafted to the customer’s
specifications, most by Shorty personally, using timeless techniques passed
from generation to generation of master hatters.
They also hand-make all their hatbands and stampede strings. All
hatbands and stampede strings can be bought separately and Shorty would be
happy to work with you to create your own special hat band.
