After a long battle with cancer, Randy Wilson was laid to rest Sunday, October 11th. Long-time family friend and Georgia Quarter Horse Association member, Beckie Peskin, attended the memorial service at Marietta SouthCare Funeral Home and shared her thoughts with us.
“It was a very nice service today. There were a lot of people, many who drove a good bit to get there, but really a lot of the folks that “grew up” with Randy and Pam. They had lots of pictures out – everything from Randy as a child all the way through his most recent win at the 2008 Congress.
Several of us commented that he truly never changed in the photos…he had the same smile and twinkle in his eye as a child as he did in the many win pictures. There were a few passages read from the bible and then several of the thoughts people had written on the website.
Pam is looking at the weekend of October 30th for the bigger get together…still no firm date though. She, Dana and Christopher seem to be well. Sad, of course, but well.”
Thank you, Beckie, for sharing that with us. You can find more information and write messages to Pam, Christopher, and Dana Wilson in a gust book at www.randywilsonquarterhorses.com.
