Jason Martin vs. Steve Heckaman In Finals of 2008 Trainer Bowl Presented By Kendalls Hats

We started with 64 trainers and we are down to the FINAL TWO in the 2008 Trainer Bowl presented by Kendalls Western Hats. Congratulations to our finalists Jason Martin from the all-around bracket and Steve Heckaman of the pleasure bracket, both from Pilot Point, Texas!

You may vote once a day until Sunday, January 11th at 10:00 eastern. The winner will receive a pure beaver hat from Kendalls Western Hats valued at $1100.  The runner-up will receive a 20x hat from Kendalls valued at $450.  Both trainers have graciously offered to auction their hats to the highest bidder on GoHorseShow.com and donate the proceeds to the charity of their choice.  Details to follow.   

It has been an amazing three weeks of competition in our first annual event.  So far in this year’s competition, after 20 days of voting over five rounds, we have received over 125,000 votes! Click here to see previous results round by round.

The final two competitors are both highly respected trainers who have dedicated their lives to training and showing. 

[NPI]/Media/9/jpg/2009/1/MartinTrainerBowl.jpg[/NPI]Jason Martin specializes in training all-around horses for High Point Performance Horses of Pilot Point, Texas.  Martin has won 30 AQHA World Championships which puts him 6th on AQHA’s all-time World Champion Open exhibitor list.  In 2008 he won the Senior Western Riding with Harley D Zip for the third consecutive year.  Martin is a member of AQHA’s Team Wrangler.

[NPI]/Media/9/jpg/2009/1/HeckamanTrainerBowl.jpg[/NPI]Steve Heckaman specializes in training western pleasure horses from his ranch in Pilot Point, Texas.  Heckaman has been training for over 20 years and has a fan base that reaches not only across the U.S. but in Europe as well.  The 2002 Senior Western Pleasure winner at the AQHA World Show, Heckaman has also won 7 Reserve World Championship and 17 Congress titles.  A member of the NSBA Hall of Fame, Heckaman was also the 2003 president.  He co-owns the stallion Potential Investment and owns Potential Asset. He is the father of 12 year old son, Riley.
