Jenna Dempze and her new 2-year-old gelding, Sure Am Hot are burning up the cover of the September GoMag! Sure Am Hot, by Blazing Hot is arguably the hottest horse showing right now. Katy Jo Davis piloted him to win the $250,000 Equine Sports Medicine 2-Year-Old Western Pleasure Challenge at the Reichert. The following week, new owner Jenna Dempze and trainer Gil Galyean showed him four times at the NSBA World Championship Show and took home 3 wins and 1 reserve.
“I was really nervous showing him,” said Jenna. “Katy Jo did such a great job with him and I had big shoes to fill!” Jenna has been riding since she was seven and started showing AQHA and NSBA five years ago. “I’ve been waiting my whole life for a horse like this,” says the 22-year-old senior at the University of Northern Iowa. “He’s really special and I’m very lucky to own him.”
Watch for Jenna and “Waylon” at the Congress in the 2-Year-Old Non-Pro Western Pleasure and Gil at the World Show in the 2-Year-Old Open.
