What exactly is Game Ready? Maybe you’ve heard people talk about it but you don’t really know what it does. You’ve probably seen the red boxes at the horse show, but you don’t really know why it works. And if you did want to buy one, do you know the best way to get one?
Game Ready was first invented for the use of professional athletes to help them recover from injuries. Top athletes including NFL Hall of Fame members Steve Young, Jerry Rice and Troy Aikman regarded the system so highly they became part-owners of the California-based company.
In 2004, the Game Ready company introduced Game Ready Equine and it quickly has become the secret weapon of top riders and veterinarians for preventative maintenance and speeding recovery from a multitude of ailments. Game Ready Equine’s dry cold and active compression offers effective treatment for inflammation and soft tissue injuries, as well as acute tendon injuries, suspensory desmitis, laminitis, splints, swelling, inflammation, and post-surgery recovery.
Game Ready is easy to attach and use as we witnessed first hand at the Tom Powers Futurity. The Utility leg wraps as well as the Back Wrap were quickly placed on our model, AQHA stallion Surely Im Good, before he was to compete at the Tom Powers. Show horses can greatly benefit from the treatments. At many of today’s horse shows, Game Ready is relied upon by top trainers including Gil Galyean of Purcell, Oklahoma.
“Game Ready is a vital tool to help keep our horses sound,” says Galyean, a multiple AQHA World Champion trainer. “I have been using it for a couple of years and we use it extensively on our show horses (including Cool Krymsun Lady, 2007 AQHA World Champion 2 Year Old Western Pleasure). We typically put it on their legs for 30-40 minutes right before we show. It takes away any soreness and helps freshen up their legs without freshening up their minds.”
Game Ready is not just for performance horses, according to World and Congress Champion halter trainer, Doug Landon of Clark, Missouri. “We bought a Game Ready about 30 days ago after one of our horse’s had leg surgery. I had folks tell me they had good response so we gave it a try. It has been really good to me and has significantly helped with reducing swelling.”
Game Ready Equine is available for purchase through company representative, Trudy Gage, who travels to many top horse shows. According to Carla McMullen, mother of AQHA exhibitors Lindsey and Megan McMullen, the ordering process is very easy. “I called Trudy, we did everything over the phone and I had my new unit two days later!”
Trudy Gage prides herself on her outstanding customer service. She can be found online at TrudyGage.com or by phone at 248-259-2630 or 989-269-2304.
