Welcome Sands Quarter Horses, owned by Bill and Linda Sands of Rolla, Missouri. The Sands own You Bet Im Good, a 1999 Bay Roan Stallion by Zippos Mr Good Bar and out of a daughter of Tiger Leo. They raise high-quality longe line and western pleasure prospects out of producing/point earning mares, and by leading pleasure stallions.
“The YBIG foals can do everything – win a halter class, and compete and win in pleasure,” Linda says. The broodmares at Sands Quarter Horses are own daughters of The Invester, Hotrodders Jet Set, Investment Asset, Zippos Mr Good Bar, Zippo Pine Bar and Iron Rebel. And another mare, Cryin Otoe Charge (1979 chestnut) is a Leading Equistat Dam whose babies have captured two Superiors and nine ROMs, and won nearly 700 AQHA points.
And in the 2005 tally, with only a handful of babies on the ground, YBIG earned a high spot on the Equistat Stallion Statistical list. Linda and Bill keep close track of the YBIG babies that are out there winning. Bettin On The Goods, a 2007 red roan YBIG colt won the 2007 NOQHA Weanling Halter Breeders Class and recently Better Be Invited, a YBIG red roan filly just won circuit championships at the 2008 Fort Worth Stock Show in Green and Junior Trail!
They were excited when You Bet Shes Good, a 2003 red roan filly, won the Virginia QH Breeders 3 yr old Non-Pro Futurity for owner Carol Binette, as well as winning Circuit Champion at the Sun Tan Circuit in select pleasure. Carol, a non-pro, does all of her own training. Also, as a yearling, the YBIG filly, Bet Shez Invited won all three longe line futurities – the SOQHA Open, Non-Pro and Breeders class — at the Southern Ohio Futurity in Springfield. Linda says, “Val and ‘Ruby’ won some great prize money, NSBA bronzes and ribbons. They also won the Ohio Quarter Horse Assn. Open longeline, Kentucky Summer Spectacular, Delaware, and West Virginia longe line futurities, and many more NSBA events.”
You Bet Im Good is standing the 2008 breeding season at Allen Quarter Horses in Effingham, Illinois. Be sure to visit his website and let Linda know you saw him on GoHorseShow.com! Check out their super prospects for sale as well!
