Ted Turner and Terry Bradshaw Announce Formation of Turner Bradshaw Ranch

Exclusive to GoHorseShow.com

64-time AQHA World Champion, Ted Turner, and 2-time Superbowl MVP, Terry Bradshaw, announced that they will be teaming up to form Turner Bradshaw Ranch, Turner revealed to GoHorseShow.com over the weekend.

Starting in September, Ted and wife, Darlene Turner, will be relocating their entire halter horse training operation to Bradshaw’s ranch in Thackerville, Oklahoma. Bradshaw’s 900 acre property is 43 miles north of Turner’s current ranch in Aubrey, Texas. Waiting for the Turners will be a 20 stall show barn, 50 stall mare motel, indoor arena and new home.

For Turner, it will be business as usual, “Nothing changes,” Turner insists. “I can still take outside horses, show other people’s horses, and my studs (Mr Elusive and Self Employed) will stay at Danny Salsman’s.”

And the trademark orange color? “I’m keeping the orange,” Turner confirms.

Turner and Bradshaw have known each other for approximately seven years. Turner has helped Bradshaw, and his daughter, Erin, with their horses off and on during that time. Turner says he and Bradshaw started talking approximately 5 years ago about forming a partnership. “Terry’s just a good guy,” Turner claims. “He will bring the same intensity he had on the football field and he is passionate about his horses.”

Bradshaw was known for calling his own plays while winning four Superbowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now with Turner, AQHA’s leading World Champion exhibitor, on his team, Bradshaw has set specific goals for himself. “Terry wants to raise and show a World Champion. He wants the public to come to his place and he wants to sell horses for a reasonable price,” Turner says.

According to Turner, being more comfortable around the horses and gaining respect as a horseman is also at the top of Bradshaw’s list. “Terry wants to be able to handle them more and he will learn by doing just that. He wants to be part of the whole deal.”

Turner believes that Bradshaw’s new partnership will be a boost to the horse industry. “We need people like Terry. Not only for his love of horses, but he can share his positive experiences with the people he knows and they will say ‘whoa, I want to do this,’” Turner believes.

Bradshaw plans to start showing in 2009. But beginning in September, Turner encourages people to stop by. “We’re just five miles across the Texas-Oklahoma line, head east at exit number 5. Come see us.”
