PF Candids & Results from 2015 Oregon Summer Classic

The 2015 Oregon Summer Classic is currently underway, June 22nd through the 28th in Central Point, Oregon. The show features eight judges in six days, huge numbers, great weather and a fun and welcoming environment for everyone. Self proclaimed, “The Best in The West,” this show attracts exhibitors from far and wide to its wonderful facility at the Jackson County Expo Center.

“The show has been great with big classes,” says trainer Chelsea Carlson. “The Novice Youth is divided into 13&U and 14-18, and the 13&U was really big with nearly 20 kids in each event, while the 14-18 had the same amount as well. The youth classes have been pretty tough, as an example there was about 30 in the Youth Horsemanship the first day.”

Carlson adds, “OQHA has been inviting and always puts on a great show, being known for the friendly atmosphere and the multitude of exhibitor parties put on nearly every night. The Oregon weather has been on the warmer side, with the temperature expected to hit 109 degrees through the weekend. Although no one seems to be looking forward to showing in the hot weather, everyone is making the best of it and seems to be having a great time.”
