Halter Bonanza on the Line in Oklahoma City

More than $100,000 has been added to halter prize money at the 2017 Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show.

With $105,000 in additional added prize money, plus top exhibitor awards up for grabs, there are plenty of reasons to enter your halter horse in the 2017 Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show.

The $55,000 added to the amateur halter division was made possible by the generous donations by 10-year cumulative breeders Steve and Kathy Headley of Bloomington, Indiana, who donated $25,000; and 30-year cumulative breeder Terry Bradshaw, and his wife, Tammy, who donated $30,000.

The $50,000 added to the open halter division was donated by 30-year cumulative breeders Gary and Linda Gordon of Fossil Gate Farms, Roanoke, Texas.

New this year, $2,500 will go to the top Adequan® Level 2 open halter exhibitor, as well as the top halter amateur from the AQHA Level 2 Championships, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan).

“The future of the halter industry is near and dear to the breeders who generously donated this added money,” said AQHA Chief Show Officer Pete Kyle. “To support the horses that will have an impact on the next generations of halter horses, more money will be distributed to the mare and stallion classes.”

The deadline to enter the 2017 Lucas Oil World and Adequan® Level 2 Championships is September 15.
