WACO, Texas (March 7, 2017) — Auburn is the new No. 1 in the latest National Collegiate Equestrian Association rankings released Tuesday, as determined by the NCEA Selection Committee.
The Tigers, who were No. 4 last week, scored a pair of upsets in defeating then-No. 1 Baylor in Waco and then upended then-second-ranked Texas A&M the following day in College Station. Auburn was the No. 1 team in the initial NCEA Rankings for 2016-17 that came out in September and has remained among the top four all season.
Oklahoma State jumped to No. 2, its highest of the season, while Baylor and Texas A&M dropped back to Nos. 3 and 4. Georgia is still No. 5 and Fresno State stayed put as well at No. 6. South Carolina moved up one to No. 7 following its win over SMU, who is now No. 8. TCU and New Mexico State both held steady from last week at Nos. 9 and 10.
