Heartbreaking Trailer Accident Leads to Two Halter Horses Euthanized on Way to Congress

We would like to send our condolences to Karen Johnson and Keitha Stutzman on the loss of two of their beloved horses in a trailer accident on the way to Congress.

King Coolsified, a multiple Congress, BHF, and 2016 Reserve AQHYA World Champion Two-Year-Old Gelding, and Congress Champion, Heza Sidewinder were both euthanized at the site of the accident.

Trainer Tom Roberston was heading a group of four trailers traveling from Adrian, Michigan to Columbus, Ohio. The accident happened about twenty minutes east of Findlay, Ohio on Highway 15.

According to Robertson (pictured below with King Coolsified), Stutzman was third in the line of the group of trailers. “She kind of veered off the road and tried to bring it back but lost control of the truck and trailer which caused the trailer to jackknife and land on its side and pretty much blew the trailer into pieces.”

tom roberstonKing Coolsified was a 2014 brown gelding by Kid Coolsified and out of Miss Sierra Lucy. He was a multiple Congress and AQHYA Reserve World Champion with L. Cade Prime in the Two-Year-Old Halter Geldings.

“King Coolsified pretty much won everything at the Congress last year,” Robertson told us on behalf of the Stutzman family. “It is a sad loss, but we are glad that no people were hurt and it was amazing and a blessing that so many people stopped and tried to help us.”

Heza Sidewinder was owned by Karen Johnson of Skanee, Michigan. The 2014 chestnut gelding was by Heza Stemwinder and out of Hott Image. He had multiple Top 10s at the AQHA World and Select World Show in the halter geldings classes. He was also Congress Champion in the Weanling Geldings with Randy Jacobs and Amateur Weanling Geldings with Karen Johnson.
