Erin M. O’Neill, 24 of Shelbyville, IN, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Erin was born on November 29, 1991 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Franklin, Indiana. She is the daughter of Robert and Marianne O’Neill of Shelbyville.
Erin was employed at the Shelbyville Medical Center as the massage therapist. She graduated from Southwestern High School, where she was an active member of the FFA program. She then attended and graduated from Harrison College, Indianapolis, IN with a degree in massage therapy.
Erin was a 10 year member of Shelby County 4-H, achieving Indiana state fair champion horse and pony in 2006. She also spent many years showing horses in both the American Paint Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association. She was a member of the American Border Collie Association and raised border collies. She loved to share her talent with horses with others, and took great delight in watching them become successful, as well. She spent many great years with Steve and Judy Moosmann of Moosmann Training Center, Shelbyville, IN, and continued there as an assistant to Judy in her free time.
She is survived by her parents Robert Lawrence O’Neill, Jr and Marianne Elisabeth Maurer O’Neill, and her sister Krystal Ann O’Neill Burgard of Clarksville, TN. Krystal is married to Jonathan Laurence Burgard and they have two sons, Austin Laurence, 3 years and Dylan Avery, 6 months, nephews to Erin , boys she adored.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 4:00pm to 7:30 pm at Bell Mortuary and Crematory, Shangrila Chapel, 1444 West US Hwy 52, Fountaintown Indiana 46130.
Funeral service will follow at 7:30pm at the mortuary.
