ABRA Buckskin Bred Program

During the 2015 ABRA Convention, the Board of Directors voted to implement the Buckskin Bred Program. Registration began January 1, 2016 and classes will begin being offered by Charter Clubs during the 2017 Show season and at the 2017 World Show held in Tulsa, OK at Expo Square.

Any horse that does not meet the requirements for the Regular Registry by being either Buckskin, Buckskin Dun, Red Dun, or Grulla can be registered in the Buckskin Bred Registry if at least one parent is registered with ABRA. This program is not just for weanlings, this is for all horses, age doesn’t matter.

This provides everyone the opportunity to register their horses that has the breeding to meet the Regular Registry guidelines but not the color. It doesn’t stop with the registration, we will be offering Buckskin Bred Classes beginning in 2017, so exhibitors can show their horses to accredited judges, building their resume which only increases their market value for the future.

We are very excited about this new program and hope the industry takes advantage of this opportunity. Buckskin Bred Registration Applications can be found on our website on the ‘Forms’ page.
