DES MOINES, Iowa — About a half a dozen horse trainers at the Iowa Show Circuit claim thousand of dollars were stolen from their stalls this week.
According to the Iowa State Fairground police reports the thefts happened between midnight and 4:30 am Thursday morning.
Anna Terry is just one of a handful of exhibitors who had thousands of dollars worth of furniture and horse supplies stolen.
“We didn`t realize until we got here in the morning that normally, we have all our syringes and meds were taken so we probably have about 500 dollars in meds stolen alone.”
The event showcases Quarter horses and is one of the top showcases in the country. It’s also the largest Quarter horse event held in Iowa.
“It’s upsetting this is a big show and you come here and this is the last of your concerns, having your stuff stolen from you,” she said.
