It’s that time of year again!
Names for Director Nominations must be submitted no later than February 5, 2015 to the WCHA office. Recommendations may be provided by members for any Region and number of recommendations by an individual are not limited. In total there are 16 Director openings.
Regional Director Representation: Each region will be represented by four (4) Directors; one (1) breeder/owner, and one (1) professional horseman or horsewoman/ industry service provider and 2 At-large Directors (see definitions below).
Regions:Region I: WA, ID, OR, NV, CA, AK, HI, UT, AZ, MT, WY, NM, CO, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia, CanadaRegion II: SD, ND, TX, LA, Mexico, NE, KS, OK, AR, MS, ALRegion III: WI, IL, MO, IN, MI, OH, KY, TN, IA, MN, PA, Manitoba, CanadaRegion IV: FL, GA, SC, NC, WV, PA, ME, VT, NH, MA, RI, NY, NJ, DE, MD, CT, DC, VA, and Ontario, Canada
Board of Director Terms: All Directors will serve three (3) year terms. However, the Owner/Breeder representation will serve only 2 years during this election to fill out the holdover of Owner/Breeder representation from last year due to lack of Owner/Breeder nominees. Directors are eligible to serve for 2 terms.
Director Definitions:
Breeder/Owner
Should own at least one (1) horse, or breed at least one (1) horse per year and, not train horses for the public, be defined as an Equine Service Provider, and/or hold an accredited judges card(s) with a major Equine Breed Association, such as WCHA, Quarter Horses, Paint, Pinto, Buckskin or Palomino.
Professional/Service Provider
Should make a living training horses for the public, and/or be an Equine Service Provider and/or hold an accredited judges card(s) with a major Equine Breed Association, such as WCHA, Quarter Horse, Paint, Pinto, Buckskin or Palomino.
At Large
In an attempt to fill Director slots with volunteers.
