To her friends at GoHorseShow.com, she is known as BLB87. She is 21-year-old Brittany Blankenship, the winner of the first ever GoHorseShow.com Member of The Month!
Brittany wins this award for exemplifying what being a community member of GoHorseShow.com is all about – Brittany has helped spread the word to her friends about the website, she ran an ad in the Introductory Issue of GoMag!, she ran a ad in the Classifieds, she posted in the Forum, and she has even offered to take candids and help with results at future shows. We couldn’t ask any more from her! And she has done all of this with a positive attitude and a smile on her face.
As a thank-you, Brittany has won a free page in the July issue of GoMag! Keep up the great work Brittany and best of luck at the shows this year. We will be cheering for you!
About me: I’m a 21 year old college student, from Holly Springs, NC, majoring in Business Administration and Human Resources. My family includes: parents – Dennis and Sherri and younger sister – Lauren, as well as our two Labradors, Zoe and Myles. Most of my time is split between school and riding or going to the shows, but when I have down time I will never turn down the opportunity to spend some time with family and friends or see a great movie. I have been showing nationally for 8 years now and started with the all-around. Nowadays I am just strictly a pleasure girl! Even though I was not “born” into the horse industry, I have been fortunate enough to achieve some great successes and have owned some wonderful horses during the time I have been involved. I’ve attained multiple Congress top tens and trips to the finals, qualified for the World Show, and had numerous futurity wins.
About my horse: My current partner is Invest With A Chex (aka “Peanut”) – a 2005 sorrel gelding by Zippo Pine Chex and Beas Invest In Shy. We are showing in the Amateur and 3-Year-Old Non-Pro pleasure events this year. Peanut and I have only been a team since August of last year. In that short amount of time, though, we have won or been top five at many major futurities, earned a top ten together at the Congress in the 2 Year Old Non-Pro, won nearly $9,000 in futurity and stakes class money, and most recently started collecting points in the Amateur pleasure. He has been a wonderful horse that I and also my family have enjoyed having as a part of our lives. Peanut and I are under the skilled guidance of Steve and Jennifer Reams from Ellerbe, NC. I credit them for much of the success I have been able to experience – they are some of the best and are so dedicated to their profession.
Thank you, GoHorseShow.com, for selecting me to be ‘Member of the Month’! I love every aspect of this site. It is such a fantastic resource and is truly proving to be THE place to GO between shows!
