Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers, Georgia, served as the site of the 1996 Olympic Games equestrian events. Thirty minutes outside Atlanta, today its 1,400 acre facility hosts some of the biggest horse shows in the country. Thank you Carey Nowacek for great candids from the Stars and Stripes and Big A.
The circuit ran from July 2 -11 and despite large classes, especially trail and over fences, the stifling heat was the most talked about subject. When not competing, most exhibitors spent their time huddled around fans to try to cool off.
Judges for the event were: Debra Jones-Wright, Jon Barry, Lynn Palm, Heidi Cecil, Patti Carter-Pratt, Brett Clark, Mike Carter, Julie Voge, Charlene Carter, Christa Baldwin, Jerry Erickson, Doug Huls, Karen Graham, Brent Tincher, Cynthia Rucker, Tyson Furlong, Cindy Reddish & Louis Hufnagel.
